Nephew, Grant earn NTJCAC Basketball Player of the Week honors

Mersadez Nephew of McLennan Community College and Theo Grant of Temple College were chosen as the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Women's and Men's Basketball Players of the Week.

A 5-7 sophomore guard from Willis, Texas, Nephew was named the NTJCAC's Women's Basketball Player of the Week. For the week, she went 5-for-15 from the field, and 2-for-9 from 3-point range and 6-for-7 from the free throw line for 18 points with 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals in 56-54 win at No. 2 Collin. She also went 10-for-24 from the field, 5-for-12 from the 3-point range and 6-for-8 from the free throw line for 31 points with 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal in 104-70 win over No. 17 Temple.

A 6-4 sophomore guard from Schertz, Texas, Grant was the NTJCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

He scored 30 points on 10-of-13 shooting in an 86-78 home win versus Southwestern Christian. He followed that up with a 44-point performance shooting 12-for-21 from the field and 18-for-21 from the free-throw line in a road win versus McLennan.
