DAC Baseball Players of the Week (Feb. 19-25)

The Dallas Athletic Conference has announced its selections for baseball Players of the Week for Feb. 19-25.

Dallas College-Eastfield's Gus Witt and Bryan Adams were chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week for Feb. 19-25. Witt was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week, while Adams was named Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week.

A 6-foot-1-inch, 200-pound sophomore from Kilgore, Texas, Witt batted .556, going 10-for-18 with four home runs, four doubles, 20 RBI, eight runs scored, two walks and two stolen bases as the Harvester Bees went 3-1 during the week, and 3-0 in DAC games. He crushed three homers in one game, including two grand slams, and drove in 10 runs Friday.

Witt is hitting .370 with four home runs, five doubles and 21 RBI this season.

A 6-foot-5, 190-pound sophomore right-handed pitcher from Andrews, Texas, Adams pitched five scoreless innings, and allowed one hit and no walks, while striking out six batters in a win at Dallas College Mountain View Saturday. It was his first start of the season.

Adams is 1-0 with one save, a 0.00 earned run average and 21 strikeouts this season.
