Perez, Peters Selected as DAC Baseball Players of the Week

Dallas College Richland's Eimir Perez and Dallas College Eastfield's Marcus Peters were selected the Dallas Athletic Conference's Players of the Week.

A sophomore from Panama City, Panama, Perez was selected as the DAC Hitter of the Week . He hit .765 with two doubles, a triple, nine runs batted in, nine runs scored, five walks and four stolen bases. He was 13-for-17 as Richland went 3-1 last week, sweeping its three-game DAC series with Dallas College Mountain View.

Perez went 5-for-6 with a double, five RBI, a walk, four runs scored and two stolen bases in a 22-21 win over Mountain View. Two days later, he went 5-for-5 with a double, triple, three RBI, a walk, two runs scored and two stolen bases in an 18-9 win over the Lions. He was 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 9-7 loss at National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Murray State College to begin the four-game week. Perez hit safely in all four games.

Through 11 games this season, Perez is hitting .484 with 10 RBI this season.

Peters was chosen as the DAC Pitcher of the Week.

A sophomore right hander from Richardson, Texas, Peters went 1-0 last week after pitching six scoreless and no-hit innings, allowing four walks, and striking out six in an 8-1 win over Dallas College Brookhaven. It was his third start this year he has not surrendered a run, and the second in which he has not given up a hit.

Peters improved to 4-0 this season with a 0.33 earned run average and 41 strikeouts in six starts.
