Arroyos, Deegan claim WJCAC Baseball Players of the Week honors
Lane Arroyos of New Mexico Junior College and Bret Deegan of Amarillo College were selected the Western Junior College Athletic Conference's Baseball Players of the Week.
A freshman first baseman from Fulshear, Texas, Arroyos was named the WJCAC Position Player of the Week. He batted .727 in the week with a pair of doubles and 3 home runs. He also recorded 7 RBI, scored 7 runs and finished with a slugging percentage of 1.72 and an on base percentage of .786.
A freshman right-hander from Spring, Texas, Deegan was the WJCAC Pitcher of the Week. He went 1-0 in the week and recorded his second consecutive double-digit strikeout performance on Sunday against Trinidad State when he fanned 10 in 4 innings of work. to improve his record as a starting pitcher to 4-0. He has a 1.69 ERA, 28 K's, and 6 hits allowed through 16 innings this season.
