Bing, Flores capture NTJCAC Players of the Week awards

Kade Bing of McLennan Community College and Sam Flores of McLennan Community College were named the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Baseball Players of the Week.

A freshman left-handed pitcher from West, Texas, Bing was tabbed the NTJCAC's Pitcher of the Week after hurling a perfect game for the Highlanders. Bing faced the minimum of 15 batters en route to tossing the season's first perfect game in a 12-0 victory over rival North Central Texas College. He finished the game with 5 strikeouts.

A sophomore third baseman from Lufkin, Texas, Flores was named the NTJCAC Position Player of the Week.

Overall, he batted .600 in his three games, going 6-for-10 from the plate with a home run and 7 RBI. He finished the week with a slugging percentage of 1,000. He went 2-for-5 with a RBI and a stolen base in the Highlanders' 11-10 win over San Jac, and went 2-for-3 with a double, a sacrifice fly, 4 RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in McLennan's 12-0 win over North Central in Game 1 of their double-header. In Game 2, he went 2-for-2 with a homer, 2 RBI, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in a12-0 win.
