Rose, Crossland claim NTJCAC Baseball Players of the Week honors

Mac Rose of McLennan Community College and Cade Crossland of Weatherford College were named the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Baseball Players of the Week.

A freshman catcher/designated hitter from Rockwall, Texas, Rose was selected the NTJCAC Position Player of the Week. He went 0-2 with 2 RBI and a stolen in McLennan's 6-0 win over North Central. In Game 2 against NCTC, he went 2-4 with 3 RBI, 2 runs and a stolen base in a 13-1 win. He went 1-5 with 2 runs and a stolen base in an 11-8 loss to Tyler. He also batted 3-4 with a home run, 5 RBI and 3 runs in a Game 1 10-3 win over Temple. In Game 2, he went 2-5 with a run in a 9-6 loss to Temple. In Game 3, he was 2-3 from the plate with a homer, an RBI, 2 runs and a walk in 10-5 win. In his final outing, he was 2-5 with an RBI and 2 runs in an 8-5 win over Temple.

A sophomore from Rockwall, Texas, Crossland was tabbed the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week. The left-hander recorded 10 strikeouts en route to tossing a 5-inning no-hitter. The only two baserunners to reach base against Crossland came via walks.
