Region V Men's Basketball Players of the Week (Jan. 7-13)

Region V has announced the Men's Basketball Players of the Week for the week of Jan. 7-13.

The North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Antione Banks from McLennan Community College.

The 6-4 freshman guard from Upper Marlboro, MD scored 25 points and hit 7 three-pointers in a win over Concordia JV. He also had 19 points and hit 5 three-pointers in a win over Ranger College.

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Xavier Trent from Clarendon College.

The 6-5 sophomore guard from Richmond, VA averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds last week including a 39 point, 11 rebound effort in a win over Howard College. He drained 9 three-pointers and added 3 assists and 3 steals.

The Metro Athletic Conference Player of the Week is JJ Murray of Eastfield College.

The 6-1 sophomore guard from Rowlett, TX scored 65 points in two games played last week. He added 20 rebounds, 11 assists and 8 steals. He hit 7 three-pointers and was 20 of 23 from the free-throw line.
