Region V Men's Basketball Players of the Week (Jan. 21-27)

Region V has announced the Men's Basketball Players of the Week for the week of Jan. 21-27.

The North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Jashawn Talton of McLennan Community College.

The 6-5 forward from Oklahoma City led the Highlanders scored 22 points went 4 of 6 from three-point range at Collin. For the week, he had 34 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals and was 13 of 21 from the field.

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Jake Hutchins of Howard College.

The 6-5 sophomore forward from Las Vegas, NV hit the game-winning shot in a 56-54 win at Midland College. He also scored 21 points in a come-from-behind win over New Mexico Military Institute. For the week, he had 38 points and 11 rebounds in 2 games.

The Metro Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Isaiah Washington of Mountain View College.

The 6-6 freshman forward from Desoto, TX score 23 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in an upset of Brookhaven. For the week, he had 45 points, 31 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.
