Odessa men's golf wins NJCAA Southwest Championship

Starting four freshmen Odessa College head coach Paul Chavez knew it was going to be an up and down season.

However, the Odessa College men's golf team put the pieces together at the right time to win the NJCAA Southwest Championship during the second hole of a sudden-death playoff against Midland College recently at Tanglewood Resort Golf Club. The Wranglers and Chaparrals each had a team score of 890.

Odessa College freshman Adam Blomme won individual medalist honors (218). Blomme edged Hudson Ross of Midland College and Odessa College's Augustin Hole by one stroke. Hole supplied the lowest round (68) during the final day.
