Region V Players of the Week for Feb. 13-19

Region V announced the Players of the Week for men's golf for the week of Feb. 13-19.

The Region V Men's Golf Players of the Week are Marcelo Garza of Odessa College and James Perry of McLennan Community College.

A freshman from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Garza led the Wranglers to a first-place finish at the 2022 Rockwind Invitational with a record score of 63 (-9) during the final round. The 63 tied the course record and set a new tournament record. Garza finished the event as the runner-up individually with rounds of 73 and 63.

A sophomore from Salado, Texas, Perry carded rounds of 70 and 67 for a final score of 137 at the Rockwind Invitational. Overall, he finished tied for third individually and helped the Highlanders to a third-place team finish
