The Western Texas College Westerners capture Region V men's soccer title

The Western Texas College Westerners nailed down the Region V men's soccer championship on Wednesday with a thrilling 1-0 victory over Hill College in Brownwood.

Olivier Murego broke a scoreless tie by booting the game-winning goal in the second half of a match that was played on the Howard Payne University field.

With the win, the Westerners improved to 8-5-1 and, more importantly, earned a berth in the 2022 NJCAA Division I National Tournament which begins Nov. 13 in Melbourne, Florida.
