Temple claims National Championship in softball

The Temple College Lady Leopards won their first-ever NJCAA Championship in softball at the Division I National Tournament in St. George, Utah.

Temple made it to the championship game without a loss. Chipola (FL) gave the Lady Leopards their first loss by a 2-0 score. But since both teams had one loss in the tournament, they had to turn around and face off again in the "if" game, where Temple won 6-1 thanks to a five-run fifth inning.

Temple started the tournament with a 7-1 win over Lake Land (IL). On Day 2, they defeataed Tyler 10-4. Then on Day 3, they downed Eastern Arizona 8-7 to advance to the championship game.
