Jones, Casas earn NTJCAC Softball Players of the Week honors

Macey Jones of Grayson College and Caitlin Casas of Grayson College were selected the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Softball Players of the Week.

A freshman from Decatur, Texas, Jones was tabbed the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week. She was call upon in relief three out of four games this week and picked up two wins in the second double-header against Cisco. She struck out just under 50 percent of batters faced and allowed only two hits. Overall, she worked 5.3 innings in the circle and fanned nine batters.

A sophomore shortstop from San Antonio, Texas, Casas was the NTJCAC Position Player of the Week. During the week, she batted .714 with 4 doubles, a home run and 9 RBI. She also scored six runs. Overall, Casas had multi-hit games in all four contests this week, including three hit Game of of each doubleheader. She drove in three runs in three of the four games and capped her week with a home run in her last at-bat.
