Maples, Allen named NTJCAC Players of the Week

Trinity Allen of McLennan Community College and Brinly Maples of McLennan Community College were named the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Softball Players of the Week.

A freshman first baseman from Cypress, Texas, Allen was named the NTJCAC Position Player of the Week. She went 2-4 with 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 SB and 3 R in 6-4 loss to No. 7 Grayson in Game 1 of their series. In Game 2, she went 1-1 with a 2B, a BB, an RBI and a run scored in a 14-5 win. In Game 1 of McLennan's series with Ranger, she went 3-3 with a 2B, HR, 4 RBI and 3 runs to help lead the team to a 25-0 win. In Game 2 against Ranger, she went 3-4 with a HR, 3 RBI, a SB and 2 runs scored in a 15-2 win over Ranger. She finished the week by going 2-3 with a 3B, 1 SB, 2 RBI and 2 runs in an 18-0 win over Ranger in Game 3, and by going 2-3 with a 3B, a HR, 5 RBI and 2 runs in a 13-0 win over Ranger in Game 4. For the week, she batted .722 (13-for-18) with 2 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs and 17 RBI.

A sophomore from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Maples was tabbed the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week.

She picked up a 14-5 win over No. 7 Grayson, allowing 3 hits, 5 runs, 3 earned runs and three walks while striking out 4 in 5 innings. She also garnered a second victory in a 13-0 win over Ranger in which she allowed just 5 hits and a 1 walk while striking out 8 in 5 innings.
