Highlanders sweep Hill

Highlanders sweep Hill

The McLennan Highlanders completed the four-game series sweep of the Hill Rebels with a pair of victories today at Bosque River Ballpark.
 
Katia Reyes picked up the 24-0 in the circle, allowing just one hit in five innings.
 
McLennan broke the game open with 17 runs in the first inning. Taylor Meier reached on an error, stole second and scored on another error that put Madison Garcia on second. Garcia then scored on the third error in the inning. Kyla Heine walked, stole second and third and score on a sacrifice fly by Katia Reyes. Chesnee Faile single and stole second. Madison Hornback then doubled to score Faile. Hornback advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Mickayla Tosch's in-the-park home run. Ellie Loveless singled and stole second, and Meier doubled. Both runners scored on a triple by Garcia. Trinity Allen then doubled to score Garcia. Heine was hit by the pitch, and Reyes followed with a three-run homer. Faile walked, Hornback was hit by the pitch and Tosch single to load the bases. Loveless singled to score Faile, and Meier singled to score Hornback. Sarah Johnson singled to score Loveless, and Meier scored on an error.
 
The Highlanders added a run in the bottom of the second. Aynsli Lawson and Ally Thompson both singled. Lawson then scored on a single by Maddie Moore.
 
Two more runs scored in the third. Makenzi Jenkins singled and scored on a double by Lawson. Lawson then scored on a triple by Thompson.
 
The final four runs scored in the fourth. Lilly Rocha triple and score on a single by Johnson. Jenkins singled, Cady Bowyer walked, and Reyes singled to score Jenkins. Bowyer then scored on a fielder's choice by Lawson.
 
In game two, Brinly Maples got the 20-5 win in the circle.
 
The Highlanders scored eight runs in the first. Meier walked, stole second and scored on a triple by Allen. Allen then scored on error. Faile walked, stole second and scored on a single by Loveless. Loveless then stole second and scored on a single by Brinly Maples. Lawson advanced on the throw and scored on a single by Lawson. Tosch and Meier singled. Tosch and Lawson both scored on an error. Garcia walked and Meier stole home
 
Four more runs scored in the second. Faile singled and scored on Hornback's home run. Loveless walked, stole second and scored on a Tosch triple. Meier then singled to score Tosch.
 
McLennan scored eight more runs in the third. Allen singled, Faile walked and Hornback singled. Loveless walked, scoring Allen. Lawson singled to score Faile, and Tosch singled to score Hornback. Johnson walked to brining Loveless in to score, and Lawson scored on a ground out by Garcia. Allen followed with a three-run homer.
 
Hill got on the board with three runs in the fourth, Bailey Hernandez singled and scored on a double by Roxxi Richards. Cayden Lobdell then doubled to score Richards. Madison Westmoreland reached on an error, and Lobdell scored on a single by Celeste Cisneros.
 
The Rebels rounded out the scoring with two runs in the fifth. Anissa Amaro and Richards both singled, advanced on a ground out by Alexis Ramsey, and scored on a single by Lobdell.
