Hornback, Reyes selected NTJCAC Softball Players of the Week
Madison Hornback of McLennan Community College and Katia Reyes of McLennan Community College were selected the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Softball Players of the Week.
A sophomore second baseman from West Columbia, Texas, Hornback was named the NTJCAC Position Player of the Week. She batted .714 for week and posted an on base percentage of .800. She went 3-for-3 with a home run, a walk, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored in an 8-6 win over NCTC. She followed that up by going 1-for-1 with a double and a stolen base and 2 runs scored in McLennan's 8-0 win over 12th-ranked Grayson. She went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in the team's 11-1 win over Grayson in the finals of the Region V North Softball Championships.
A sophomore right-hander from Weslaco, Texas, Reyes was the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week. She picked up the 11-1 win over No. 12 Grayson in the Region V North championship game, allowing 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 6 in 4 innings. She also went 1-for-3 at the plate with 2 walks and 2 RBI in title game.
