Region V Women's Basketball Players of the Week (Feb. 12)

Region V has announced the Women's Basketball Players of the Week for the week of Feb. 3-9.

The Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Makayla Gatewood of Temple College.

The 5-10 sophomore forward averaged a double-double last week with 28.5 points per game and 14 rebounds per game while shooting 70 percent from the floor. She also went 15 of 18 from the free throw line and had 4 steals and 2 assists.

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Bethany Theodore of Midland College.

The 5-4 sophomore guard from Sunbury, Australia had 41 points in two games played last week. In addition to averaging 20.5 points per game, she shot 64 percent from the field, 50 percent from 3-point range and 73 percent on free throws. She also had 5 assists and 4 steals.
