Region V Women's Basketball Players of the Week (Feb. 19)

Region V has announced the Women's Basketball Players of the Week for the week of Feb. 10-16.

The Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Destiny Thurman of Collin College.

The 5-7 freshman guard from Arlington, TX had a big week with 38 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals in 2 games played. She shot 50 percent from the field and from 3-point range, and was 15 of 20 from the free-throw line.

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Lana Marov of Midland College.

The 5-11 sophomore forward from Sydney, Australia averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds last week. She shot 43 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free-throw line.
