Brookhaven brings home National Championship in women's soccer

For the second time in three seasons, the Brookhaven (TX) Bears are the NJCAA DIII Women's Soccer champions.

The top-seeded Bears defeated Delta (MI) 2-0 behind a pair of second half goals to claim the national championship.

Brookhaven capped its unbeaten season with a record of 17-0-1 after winning Sunday's championship match. The Bears, who won the 2017 national title also in Dryden, become the fifth Division III program to win multiple championships. Along with Richland's (TX) title in 2018, the state of Texas has now produced three consecutive championships, all coming in the state of New York.
