Weatherford captures Region 5 volleyball title

The Weatherford College Coyotes pocketed the Region 5 volleyball championship on Friday night in front of their home fans in the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Complex, Weatherford College defeated Odessa College, 3-1.

Weatherford fought of a tough challenge in the first set to go up 1-0 in the best-of-five series. The Coyotes won the opening set by a 32-30 clip.

Odessa College rallied to tie the game at one set apiece by winning the second frame, 25-18.

Weatherford came back strong from there. They won the final two sets by scores of 26-24 and 25-17.
