El Paso wins Men, Women Region V Cross Country Championships
El Paso Community College swept both the men's and women's championship at the Region V Cross Country Meet held in Ranger.
On the men's side, El Paso finished with 22 points, while South Plains College was second with 42 and Ranger College was third with 56.
El Paso's Gideon Cheplak was the men's individual champion with a time of 25:50.20.
For the women, El Paso placed first with 22 points, South Plains was second with 37 and New Mexico Military Institute was third with 81.
The women's individual champion was Everlyn Kemboi of El Paso.
