Hoof, Jackson named NTJCAC Basketball Players of the Week

Charnelle Hood of McLennan Community College and Avion Jackson of McLennan Community College were selected the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Basketball Players of the Week.

A 5-11 sophomore guard from Memphis, Tenn., Hoof was named the NTJCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. She went 8-14 from the field for 16 points with 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in 64-44 win over Southern Arkansas Tech; Went 10-19 from the field and 3-5 from the free throw line for 23 points with 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in 88-51 win over LSU-Eunice.

A 6-4 sophomore guard from Humble, Texas, Jackson is the NTJCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. In the Highlanders' only game, he went 5-for-7 from the floor, and 5-for-5 from the free throw line en route to scoring 15 points. He also contributed 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
