The 2021 Region V Cross County Championships were held in Hobbs, NM recently with the El Paso CC Women and New Mexico Junior College Men taking home team titles.
Ranger College head cross country coach Kathy Graham wasn’t expecting to be named the 2020 NJCAA Women’s National Coach of the Year. In fact, she wasn’t even sure she would even be at the national meet due to be quarantined for COVID-19 precautions just a few days before the event.
Heading into the 2020 NJCAA National Cross-Country Championships on Saturday morning, Ranger College head coach Kathy Graham and RC Assistant Coach Alfonso Rangel told their team the best way to make history was to not for anyone to finish first in the individual standings. Rather, they preached, it was for them to put as many runners between the first Cloud County Community College runner and their second fastest runner.
The South Plains College women won the team championship at the Region V Cross Country meet Saturday in Snyder, while the El Paso Community College men ran to a team title.
El Paso Community College swept both the men's and women's championship at the Region V Cross Country Meet held in Ranger.
