Lewis, Smith claim WJCAC Baseball Players of the Week honors

Kyle Lewis of Midland College and Cade Smith of New Mexico Junior College were named the Western Junior College Athletic Conference's Baseball Players of the Week.

A sophomore outfielder from Lubbock, Texas, Lewis was the WJCAC Position Player of the Week. Overall, he batted .571 last week with 3 doubles, a triple and 7 RBI. He also scored 9 runs and recorded 7 stolen bases and 4 walks.

A freshman from San Antonio, Texas, Smith was tabbed the WJCAC Pitcher of the Week after leading the Thunderbirds to a win by tossing a 2-hit complete game shutout. In his 7 innings of work, he struck out 3 and did not allow a walk.
