Diaz, Matsuzaki earn WJCAC Baseball Players of the Week

Cam Diaz of Howard College and Lee Matsuzaki of Howard College were named the Western Junior College Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week.

A sophomore righthander from Lamesa, Texas, Diaz was named the WJCAC Pitcher of the Week after turning in a solid outing. He struck out 13 batters in 6.2 innings of work, including fanning the side in the sixth inning with the bases loaded. Overall, he allowed just 5 hits.

A redshirt sophomore outfielder from Honolulu, HA, Matsuzaki was the WJCAC Position Player of the Week. He batted .571 during the week with 3 doubles, a triple and 3 home runs. He finished with 12 RBI and scored 8 runs. Matsuzaki posted a slugging percentage of 1.571 and an on-base percentage of .600.
