Dinsmore, Navarrete earn DAC Baseball Players of the Week awards

Dallas College Brookhaven's Bo Dinscore and Dallas College North Lake's Brayan Navarrete were named the Dallas Athletic Conference's Baseball Players of the Week.

Dinsmore was selected as the DAC Hitter of the Week. It is the second time this season he's won the award.

A sophomore first baseman from Georgetown, Texas, Dinscore batted .692, going 9-for-13 with three home runs, two doubles, seven runs batted in, five runs scored and two walks. He went 5-for-5 with all three of his home runs in the Game 2 series victory over Dallas College North Lake. One of the homers was a grand slam, and he drove in five runs in that game. He hit safely in all three games of the series, which the Bears dropped 2-1.

Dinscore is batting .381 with 10 home runs, 17 doubles and 45 RBI this season. He's hit six of his 10 home runs, and driven in 14 runs against North Lake this season -- both weeks he was named the DAC Hitter of the Week.

Navarrete was chosen as the DAC Pitcher of the Week.

A freshman right hander from Haltom City, Texas, Navarrete won two games in relief as the Blazers won a series against Dallas College Brookhaven. A converted pitcher after starting the year as a first baseman, he went 4 2/3 innings in Games 1 and 3 of the series, allowing no runs, two hits and five walks, and struck out three batters in collecting the win in both appearances. He also got the DAC Hitter of the Week to ground into an inning-ending double play with a one-run lead.

Navarrete is 2-0 with a 0.79 earned run average and 12 strikeouts in 11.1 innings pitched this season.
