Dyer, Solis Collects DAC Player of the Week honors

Dallas College Eastfield's Ryan Dyer and Dallas College Richland's Caleb Solis were selected the Dallas Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week.
A sophomore right-hander from North Richland Hills, Texas, Dyer was chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. It is the second time this season he has won the award. He went 1-0 last week, pitching six shutout innings, allowing four hits and two walks, and striking out a career-high eight batters in an 11-0 win at Dallas College North Lake.
Dyer improved to 6-0 with a 3.40 earned run average and 54 strikeouts in 55 2/3 innings this year.
Ranked No. 3 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll, Eastfield (40-8, 20-4 DAC) begins a three-game series at No. 6 Dallas College Richland (28-20, 17-7) at noon Thursday.
A freshman catcher from Houston, Solis was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Position Player of the Week. He crushed three home runs and drove in eight runs, while slugging 1.500 and posting an on-base plus slugging percentage of 2.083 last week as the Thunderducks won a series with Dallas College Cedar Valley. He batted .375, scored five runs and walked once. Solis homered twice and drove in seven runs in Saturday's 13-3 win over the Suns.
Ranked No. 6 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll, Richland (28-20, 17-7 DAC) hosts No. 3 Eastfield (40-8, 20-4 DAC) on Pack the Park Day 12 p.m. Thursday in Game 1 of a three-game series.
