WJCAC Softball Players of the Week (April 16-22)

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference Softball Players of the Week are Zoey De Baca of Midland College and Lauren De La Cruz of Midland College.

A sophomore from El Paso, Texas, De Baca was the WJCAC Pitcher of the Week for April 16-22 after posting a 2-0 record during the week. Overall, she yielded just two earned runs in 14.2 innings of work for the Lady Chaps. In her two appearances, she limited opposing teams to 11 hits while striking out six batters. De Baca helped herself offensively, as well. She batted .706 in the week with three doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI.

A sophomore third baseman from El Paso, De La Cruz was the WJCAC Position Player of the Week after batting .733 with seven RBI in the week. Among her clutch hits were two doubles and two homers. She also scored four runs.
