WJCAC Softball Players of the Week (April 23-29)

WJCAC Softball Players of the Week (April 23-29)

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference Softball Players of the Week are Rayna Cruickshanks of Odessa College and Lauren De La Cruz of Midland College.

A sophomore from Olds, Alberta, Cruickshanks was named the WJCAC Pitcher of the Week. The Canadian righthander went 2-0 during the week, allowing just three hits and no earned runs in two outings that spanned seven innings. Overall, she struck out eight batters en route to eclipsing the 150-strikeout plateau. She is currently eighth in the nation in victories with 22.

A sophomore third baseman, De La Cruz was tabbed the WJCAC Position Player of the Week. During the week, she batted .615 with two doubles, five home runs and eight runs batted in. She also scored nine runs and drew four walks.
