Stewart, Lovato earn WJCAC Softball Players of the Week honors

Madison Stewart of Midland College and Emma Lovato of Midland College were selected the Western Junior College Athletic Conference's Softball Players of the Week.

A sophomore catcher from Lubbock, Texas, Stewart was named the WJCAC Position Player of the Week. She finished the week batting .417 for the Lady Chaps, with a double three home runs and 10 RBI. She drew a pair of walks and scored seven runs.

A freshman from Farmington, New Mexico, Lovato was chosen as the WJCAC Pitcher of the Week. She recorded a pair of dominating outings last week en route to picking two wins. Overall, she registered an earned run average of just 3.19 while scattering six hits through 11 innings in the circle. She finished the week with 21 strikeouts and just one walk.
