Becerra, Reyes earn NTJCAC Softball Players of the Week honors

Adelyn Becerra of Temple College and Katia Reyes of McLennan Community College were selected the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Softball Players of the Week.

A sophomore catcher/outfielder, Becerra was named the NTJCAC's Position Player of the Week after solid showing for the Ladt Leopards. In her six games last week, she batted .500 while hitting three doubles, a triple and four home runs. She helped Temple sweep series with Blinn, Alvin and Kilgore by collecting 13 RBI, drawing seven walks and stealing a base.

A sophomore righthander from Weslaco, Texas, Reyes was selected the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week. She led the Highlassies to a 7-1 win over Tyler in her only outing in the circle. In that game, she allowed just four hits in seven innings. She finished with 5 strikeouts.
