Batterton, Giaudrone claim NTJCAC Softball Players of the Week honors

Taryn Batterton of McLennan Community College and Halle Giaudrone of Grayson College were named the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Softball Players of the Week.

A freshman catcher from Kiowa, Oklahoma, Giaudrone was selected the NTJCAC Position Player of the Week. She belted home runs in three of her four games, including a multi-homer game. She registered a 3-hit game in Game 3, and collected hits in all four outings. She also threw out three baserunners during the week. Overall, she batted .667 with a double, 4 home runs and 10 RBI. She also scored seven runs and reached base three times via walks.

A sophomore from Latta, Oklahoma, Batterton was named the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week after collecting three wins and a save, with all three wins coming against No.4-ranked Temple. In Game 1, she held Temple hitless for 3 innings and led the Highlassies to an 8-0 win. In Game 2, she faced just 21 batters en route to guiding McLennan to an 11-2 run-rule win. In Game 3, she held Temple hitless through 8 innings. She notched a save in Game 4. Overall, she allowed just 3 hits and 1 earned run during the week
