Highlanders move to 40-0 with wins over Cisco

The top-ranked McLennan Highlanders moved to 40-0 on the season with a pair of wins over the Cisco Wranglers this afternoon at Bosque River Ballpark.
 
The Highlanders took game one 7-1 with Ellie Loveless getting the win and Taryn Batterton picking up the save.
 
McLennan scored two runs in the first. Taylor Meier walked and Mickayla Tosch was hit by the pitch. Kyla Heine followed with a single to score Meier and Tosch.
 
Two more Highlander runs scored in the fourth. Madison Hornback tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Chesnee Faile. Ellie Loveless then hit a solo home run.
 
Cisco's only run came in the top of the fifth. Kalee Aguilar-Luna and Natalie Pinon both singled. A double play put Aguilar-Luna out at second and Alyssa Brister out at first. Taylor Ramirez singled, and Harley Staton singled to score Pinon.
 
McLennan added a run with Trinity Allen's solo home run in the bottom of the fifth.
 
The final two Highlander runs came in the bottom of the sixth. Madison Garcia tripled, and Loveless followed with the two-run homer.
 
Makenzi Jenkins picked up the 8-0 run-rule victory in the circle for game two.
 
The Highlanders scored three runs in the first. Garcia singled and Hornback was hit by the pitch. Both runners stole a base, and Garcia scored on a wild pitch. Katia Reyes singled to score Hornback. Reyes advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Maddie Moore and scored on a double by Faile.
 
Two more McLennan runs scored in the second. Aynsli Lawson walked, advanced on a passed ball and scored on an error. Garcia singled, stole second and advanced to third on an error. Hornback then reached on an error, scoring Garcia.
 
Another Highlander run scored in the third. Moore walked and advanced to second on a ground out by Sarah Johnson. Lawson then singled to score Moore.
 
After a 30 minute weather delay between the top and bottom of the fifth inning, McLennan scored two runs to secure the run rule. Lilly Rocha singled and was replaced by pinch runner Meier. Garcia also singled, moving Meier to third and Garcia advanced on the throw. Ally Thompson then single to score Meier and Garcia, ending the game
