Yarborough, Canales earn WJCAC Softball Players of the Week Honors

Rylee Yarborough of Western Texas College and Kenzi Canales of Howard College have been selected the Western Junior College Athletic Conference's Softball Players of the Week.
A freshman from Ferris, Texas, Yarborough was named the WJCAC Pitcher of the Week. A week after tossing a no-hitter against Howard College, she continued to dominate opposing batters. Overall, she went 2-0 last week, while striking out 18 batters in just 13 innings of play. Now 4-2 for the season, she limited opposing teams to just 4 earned runs.
A sophomore catcher from Coahoma, Texas, Canales was the WJCAC Position Player of the Week.
Overall, Canales batted .600 for the week with four home runs and 5 RBI. The biggest of her dingers came via a walk-off blast in Game 1 of the Lady Hawks' game with Frank Phillips. She also scored 8 runs during the week.
