Highlanders remain #1 for eighth week

Highlanders remain #1 for eighth week

For the eighth consecutive week, the McLennan Highlanders are #1 in the NJCAA Division I softball rankings. The Highlanders have an overall record of 49-1 and claimed the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday.

Northwest Florida State remains at #2 this week with a 46-3 record, while Florida Southwestern State moves up one spot to #3 with a 45-5 record. Indian River State (Florida) fell one spot to #4 with a 42-5 record, and Temple (Texas) remained at #5 with a 42-9-1 record.

Other Texas teams ranked: Paris, down one spot to #10, 36-8; Grayson, down three spots to #13, 28-13; Galveston, down two spots to #15, 31-10; and Trinity Valley, staying at #18, 37-13. San Jacinto and North Central Texas are receiving votes.

McLennan travels to Hill Wednesday to face the Rebels in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
