Perez, Johnson claim WJCAC Softball honors

Jayci Johnson of Midland College and Katelynn Perez of Midland College were selected the Western Junior College Athletic Conference's Softball Players of the Week.
A sophomore third baseman from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Johnson is the WJCAC Position Player of the Week. Overall, she batted .615 for the week with a double and a home run and 5 RBI. She also scored 3 runs and drew a pair of walks.
A sophomore from Los Fresnos, Texas, Perez is the WJCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Perez went 2-0 last week for the Lady Chaps. She scattered 11 hits through 14 innings of work and limited opposing teams to just 5 earned runs. She finished with 18 strikeouts and no walks.
