McLennan women slip in NJCAA poll

The McLennan women's basketball squad slipped one spot to No. 10 in latest NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Rankings. McLennan has an overall record of 20-5 and are 9-2 in conference play.

Hutchinson (Kansas) remains at No. 1 with an overall record of 25-0. Collin, McLennan's Wednesday evening conference opponent, moved up one spot this week to No. 2 with an overall record of 23-1.  Wabash Valley (Illinois) jumped three spots to No. 3 with a 21-2 record while Gulf Coast State (Florida) slipped two spots to No. 4 with a 22-3 record. Shelton State (Alabama) jumped two spots to No. 5 with a 23-4 record.

Other Texas schools ranked: Odessa, up two spots to No. 9, 23-3; Trinity Valley, remains at No. 12, 18-5; and Temple, up two spots to No. 17, 22-2. Angelina is receiving votes.

McLennan travels to Plano to face Collin at 5 p.m. Wednesday and will host Temple at 2 p.m. Saturday.
