DAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week (Oct. 2-8)

The Dallas Athletic Conference has announced its Women's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 2-8.

Dallas Athletic Conference Players of the Week are Whitni Newbill of Dallas College-Brookhaven and Bailey Clark of Dallas College-Brookhaven.

A freshman defender/midfielder from Corinth, TX. Bailey has been immense for Brookhaven and has played nearly every minute for the team. She had a rock star performance in the win against NJCAA D3 #4 ranked Richland who is also ranked #2 in the DAC. The clean sheet against Richland was largely in part to Bailey snuffing out many attacks. She would then continue that form in a 3-0 win against North Lake in the following game while also contributing with an assist. Bailey ended the week with 1 shot and 1 assist.

A freshman forward from Austin, Texas, Whitni Newbill had another productive week for scoring goals. She started off the week scoring the only goal with 5 minutes remaining against Richland who is ranked #2 in the DAC and #4 in the NJCAA D3 rankings. It was a very hard fought game and Whitni came up clutch for the Lady Bears giving them sole control of first-place in the DAC. Not to be satisfied with just one goal in the week, she would score her conference-leading 8th goal of the season against a stubborn North Lake team and help Brookhaven end the week undefeated. Whitni ended the week with 11 shots, 4 on goal and 2 goals.
