Puente, Reynolds earn DAC Women's Soccer POW Honors

Dallas College Cedar Valley's Briana Puente and Dallas College Brookhaven's Kenya Reynolds were selected the Dallas Athletic Conference's Players of the Week for Oct. 8-14.

A sophomore forward from Hope, Arkansas, Puente was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. She figured into the game-winning goal in both of Cedar Valley's wins last week. She scored the game-winning goal off a 22-yard free kick in Friday's 1-0 win at Dallas College Mountain View. Puente also assisted on the game winner in a 3-0 shutout over Dallas College Eastfield before scoring a goal in that game.

She finished the week with two goals and an assist. Her goal against Mountain View was her sixth of the season and first game winner.

Reynolds was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

A sophomore defender from The Colony, Texas, she was key in helping the No. 2 nationally-ranked Bears shut down No. 3 Dallas College Richland, 1-0, in a game that decided the DAC regular season championship. It was Brookhaven's third straight shutout and eighth of the season.

Reynolds also played a role in the Bears' 12-0 shutout of Dallas College Mountain View earlier in the week.
