Brookhaven to Host NJCAA DIII South District Tourney Tues-Sat

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven women's soccer team will host the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South District Tournament Tuesday-Saturday.

The tournament will air on TSBN.

The NJCAA Division III No. 2-ranked Bears (10-2-1) and No. 3 Dallas College Richland (8-1-3) earned first round byes as the tournament's top two seeds, and will be slotted in Thursday's semifinals. The championship is set for 12 p.m. Saturday.

Third-seeded Dallas College Cedar Valley (9-5-1) will meet sixth-seeded Dallas College Mountain View (1-11-3) in Tuesday's 4 p.m. quarterfinal. Fourth-seeded Dallas College North Lake (3-8-5) meets fifth-seeded Dallas College Eastfield (3-12-2) in Tuesday's 6:30 p.m. quarterfinal.

The district champion will earn an automatic berth to the NJCAA Division III Tournament Nov. 7-12 in Gastonia, N.C.

  • Elliott is second in the league and nation in GAA (0.16)
  • Harris is third in the DAC and fourth in the nation in GAA (0.23)
  • Brookhaven is ninth in the country in goals (51)
  • Richland leads the country in GAA (0.17)
