WJCAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week (Oct. 2-8)

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference has announced its Women's Volleyball Players of the Week for Oct. 2-8.

The WJCAC Players of the Week are Kadyne Emmot of Odessa College and Mio Yamamoto of New Mexico Military Institute.

A 5-10 freshman setter from Waipahu, Hawaii, Emmot earned Offensive Player of the Week honors by starring for Odessa College. So far, she has a total of 866 assists for the year, and 255 in the conference (averaging 9.21 for the year and 9.44 in conference). She has had 4 double-double outings this year, and has played a key role in the OC attackers' success. Last week, she had 3 kills, 16 attacks, 70 assists, 23 digs as well as a block and a block assist.

A 5-5 sophomore libero from Chigasaki, Kanagawa, Japan, Yamamoto was the WJCAC Defensive Player of the Week. During the week, she registered 58 digs and 10 assists in eight sets. She also contributed five service aces.
